Everton Women duo react to ‘Professional’ FA Cup result v Nottingham Forest
Everton Women duo Emma Bissell and Lucy Hope have reacted to their “professional” performance against Nottingham Forest in the FA Cup on Sunday 11 February.
Katherine Kuhl Moller opened the scoring before Martina Piemonte doubled the Toffees’ first-half lead. Charlotte Greengrass pulled one back for Forest Women before Everton netted a plethora of goals to win 7-1.
Brian Sorensen’s players claimed the thrashing in the FA Cup Round of 16, setting up a quarter-final clash with Chelsea Women on Sunday 10 March.
Speaking to Everton TV on Monday (12 February), Bissell said: “It was nice to get the goal and get off the mark, but the main thing was getting the job done.
“From the players that started to those who came on, we kept the momentum high throughout the game. But obviously on a personal note, always nice to get goals in the game.”
Lucy Hope added: “The main focus going into that game was making sure it was a professional performance and conceiving a win.”
Everton Women claim quarter-final spot
Considering Everton’s form this season, sitting five points above last-place Bristol City in the Women’s Super League, reaching the FA Cup quarter-final is already a great feat.
But to do so with such a special performance against Forest, who currently play their football in the second division, the club should be proud of their accomplishments so far.
The players will not want to stop there, though, with a fierce challenge against the current Super League leaders, Chelsea, up next.

Although recent history would suggest that a win for the Blues is the likeliest outcome in March, Everton’s last victory over Chelsea came in the FA Cup in 2020, when Lucy Graham and Valerie Gauvin helped claim a 2-1 win.
The 7-1 result on Sunday marked the side’s first win since their 3-0 win over Aston Villa in the same competition, sandwiching four losses against Arsenal and Chelsea, and two defeats to Leicester City.
In other Everton news, Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer made “worrying” claims yesterday.
