Everton Women are set to welcome Liverpool to Goodison Park for the Merseyside derby, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

The club reported via its official website [6 February] that the derby against Liverpool could be the last chance to watch Everton Women play at the Toffees' 132-year-old home.

The same fixture last season saw a club-record crowd of over 22,000 witnessing a 1-1 draw between the two rivals in a closely fought match-up.

Last dance for Everton Women

If the history books are anything to go by, Everton Women's recent form could indicate a fairytale ending to their journey at Goodison Park.

With the 2024/25 season the last at Everton's current ground before a move to Bramley-Moore Dock Stadium, the latest Merseyside derby represents one of the last chances to see the two sides go head-to-head there.

Despite the most recent meeting going Liverpool's way in a tight 2-1 affair in the Women's League Cup, Everton Women are unbeaten in this fixture since 2019, sandwiching three victories and a draw for the Toffees.

Everton Women defender Megan Finnigan spoke to Liverpool Echo (6 February) ahead of the "massive" clash, claiming that the game "seems to have brought out the best in us as a team so we can’t wait".

The Toffees will need an incredible performance at home this time out, with Liverpool pushing for the top-three spots in the Women's Super League while Everton Women flounder in 10th, just five points above the relegation zone.

Finnigan, and boss Brian Sorensen, will be hoping to rectify their four consecutive losses to Arsenal, twice against Leicester City, and Chelsea, with a historic victory over Liverpool in what could be one of the last Merseyside derbies at Goodison Park.
