Everton to terminate Dele Alli contract as Goodison deal baffles former employee
Everton could terminate the contract of midfielder Dele Alli, according to former Goodison Park scout Bryan King.
The prediction comes after Toffees manager Sean Dyche admitted that the player still had “a long way to go” following a series of injury setbacks [Liverpool Echo, 13 February].
King does not see a future for the 27-year-old at the Goodison Park club, labelling the decision to sign him from Tottenham a “mistake.”
Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “I don’t think he’s going to be beneficial for the fight to stay up. I’m still trying to work out how he’s gotten injured when he doesn’t play, but these things happen of course.
“I can’t see him being part of Everton’s future, I think it was a mistake in the first place to bring him in. I just thought it was the wrong move for him.
“Something is going to happen, maybe a termination of the deal. They certainly aren’t going to pay another £10million, that’s for sure.”
Everton frustration for Alli
It really has been a nightmare couple of years for Alli, who undoubtedly deserves some good luck given his troubles on and off the pitch.
But whether that good luck comes at Goodison Park remains to be seen, with the former England ace seemingly some way off from a comeback.

It really is a sad situation for such a talented player, with talkSPORT’s Ally McCoist sympathising with Alli after it was suggested he may never play for the Toffees again.
