Ex-Everton Scout makes exit prediction on ‘genius’ Dele Alli after Goodison Park development

Dele Alli does not have a future at Everton or Tottenham, according to former Goodison Park scout Bryan King.

The prediction comes after Sean Dyche confirmed that the midfielder still has a long way to go before returning to the pitch.

The 27-year-old has made just 13 appearances since his move to Merseyside from North London outfit Tottenham.

Speaking to Goodison News, King said: “It’s entirely up to him. How does he want to handle this situation? Does he go back to square one and rebuild his career, or does he – because as players are in the current climate – not have to play?

“A lot of players are on great wages. He’s certainly young enough to rebuild his career, playing-wise, but does he want to?

“When he first came on the scene I thought he was a wonderful player, some of the things he did on the pitch he was genius. A first team regular for Tottenham, picked for England regularly, and it looked as though he had a wonderful future.

“Then he fell out of love with Tottenham and made this move to Everton, which has never seemed to have actually materialised. He’s moved to Everton, but his contribution to the football club has been minimal, both on and off the field.

“So I can’t see his future at Everton to be honest, and I certainly can’t see it at Tottenham at this moment in time. It’s up to him. Does he go down a level and rebuild his career, or does he quit the game?”

Will Dele Alli ever play for Everton again?

Alli’s time at Goodison Park has, of course, been broken up by a loan spell at Turkish club Besiktas, but things really didn’t go to plan there.

And the same can be said of his time on Merseyside, with the midfielder far away from returning to action amid his current injury issues.

It remains to be seen what Dyche and his staff have in plan for the former England star, who really hasn’t had a break in recent times.

In other Everton news, John Cross seems to suggest one Toffees loanee should be fined as he sparks a Premier League player discussion.
