Spanish press name Jarrad Branthwaite as ‘future Real Madrid player’ after Everton v Brighton

Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo have named Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite as a “future Real Madrid player” after his goal against Brighton.

The Toffees conceded an injury-time equaliser to be held to a draw by the Seagulls after Branthwaite had arrowed a strike into the top corner to give his side the lead in the second half.

And covering the game on their website (24 February), MD referred to Branthwaite as a future Madridista because of his love for Sergio Ramos and the fact they have been linked with a move for him this summer.

Everton selling Branthwaite better at Real Madrid than Manchester United

If Everton have to sell key players during the summer transfer window, then Branthwaite is no doubt going to be the most likely option because of how good he can be.

Along with Amadou Onana, most people would be surprised to still see them in the famous royal blue in the 2024/25 season even if the club avoid relegation because of the precarious financial situation they find themselves in.

But if the club get the choice of where to sell these players, then it should be abroad where they can’t then hurt the team in the future too rather than to Manchester United.

Mundo Deportivo name Jarrad Branthwaite as future Real Madrid player.

Obviously there is far more money in the Premier League and that means those teams are likely to be able to outbid a team like Madrid, but Branthwaite would be able to shine there just as much and not harm Everton’s chances of success.

Ultimately he has to go to the highest bidder because of the situation behind the scenes, but Real Madrid would definitely not be a bad destination for him.
