Tim Sherwood stunned by what he saw in Everton v Brighton live on Sky Sports
Tim Sherwood was left stunned live on Sky Sports during Brighton’s clash with Everton in the Premier League.
The Toffees travelled to the AMEX Stadium and were dominated for much of the first half, with the Seagulls having almost all the possession.
And while watching the game live on Soccer Saturday (24 February, 15:13), Sherwood claimed it was the most one-sided game he’d ever seen and admitted to being shocked by how bad Everton had been.
“I’ve never seen a more one-sided game of football,” he said. “We’re 11 minutes into this game and it’s total domination from Brighton.
“This ain’t pretty at the moment. Wow, incredible. They’ve hardly touched the football.”
Points more important than performance for Everton
It’s never easy going to Brighton and getting a result with the way they play, but Sean Dyche has found a way to get results in the past.
The team smashed Brighton in last season’s fixture with a 4-1 win on the road, and earlier this season they were minutes away from another win before a late Ashley Young own goal saw them held to a draw.
In both of those games it was Brighton who dominated the play, but the Toffees were solid defensively and counter attacked efficiently before being clinical in front of goal.

There is no doubt that Toffees fans would rather see their team go for wins from the off by playing attacking football, but there is also a realisation that points are more important than performances right now.
If Everton play this way until the end of the season and manage to avoid relegation then it would all have been worth it, and that is likely how Dyche is looking at it too.
