Everton: Ally McCoist shares what Sean Dyche told him about points deduction verdict live on talkSPORT
Ally McCoist shared that, after having a conversation with Sean Dyche, he got the impression the Everton boss had hoped to get more points back from their Premier League appeal.
Everton received the news that their ten-point deduction had been reduced to six after an appeal on 27 February, but McCoist insisted Dyche hoped for more.
The former Rangers striker also shared that the boss is looking forward to what has shaped up to be a huge clash against West Ham at Goodison Park on 2 March.
Speaking live on talkSPORT [27 February, 06:11], McCoist shared: “I was talking to Sean Dyche last night, had a conversation with Dychey last night. He said he was obviously looking forward to the game [against West Ham], a massive game.
“He was obviously pleased with the points they got back yesterday, but I have thought looking at him and listening to him that he was maybe hoping it would be a little bit more.”
Everton attention can now turn to West Ham after the appeal
Everyone will always insist the minds of the players and fans have simply been on the football, but there can be no doubt the points deduction and appeal verdict would have been weighing on their minds this month.
When it was shared they would receive the answer at some stage this month, there was plenty of speculation when that might be, without much clarity, which surely can’t have been good for morale.
Now with four points handed back to them, Dyche and his players will be boosted heading into the clash against West Ham, particularly with the game being at home, and their attention can turn to the game.

With Dyche seemingly hoping for more than just the four points back, he may have been left disappointed by the eventual verdict from the Premier League, but he will no doubt be pleased to have even the four points back.
