Everton: ‘Desperate’ Dele Alli update emerges from Goodison Park
Dan Plumley has insisted that the “desperate” financial situation at Everton will be behind them potentially avoiding a £10million payment for Dele Alli.
Everton officials are said to be determined not to pay out anymore for Alli, with his future now set to lie away from Goodison Park.
The football finance expert admitted it was a shame for Alli, but he will likely be part of a bigger player clearout at Everton this summer either way.
“It’s a shame for the player in all of this,” he exclusively told Goodison News.
“That’s the financial reality of the situation and when times are pretty desperate and there is a desperate financial situation at Everton at the minute, that if you can avoid a £10million payment, then you’ve got reason to believe that’s why they’re doing.
“Of course, the player loses out there but from a financial perspective, you saving £10million and it seems likely they will part company with the player, I’m sure in the summer.
“Bigger than that, there will probably be a big clear out whichever way it falls in the summer, so it’s kind of heading towards that.
“You can see the financial situation laid bare there when you can’t trigger that payment.”

Curious case of Dele Alli and Everton
Although a shame as mentioned, this has never worked for either club or player.
After undergoing surgery recently, Alli is not tipped to return for weeks at Finch Farm with his Everton career slowly trickling away.
It is best for all parties if they move their separate ways as soon as possible.
In other Everton news, a massive £80million transfer exit is now “likely” to be agreed.
