Everton takeover decision verdict dropped amid 777 Partners-Premier League meeting
The planned face-to-face meeting between 777 Partners and the Premier League this week is unlikely to provide an immediate decision over the proposed takeover of Everton, according to Liverpool Echo.
Instead, the meeting is expected to provide a platform to iron out any of the current issues at Goodison Park, with the potential takeover having stalled over the last few months.
The Premier League is seen as the final hurdle to overcome, with the takeover bid passing Financial Conduct Authority scrutiny before Christmas.
Writing for the newspaper’s website, Joe Thomas said: “The face-to-face meeting planned for this week is not expected to yield an immediate decision but is instead being viewed as an opportunity to explore the issues currently holding a decision back.”
Will 777 Partners complete their takeover of Everton?
Understandably, Toffees fans have become increasingly worried about the potential takeover of their club, with a six-month ongoing wait for confirmation.
There have been multiple bumps in the road since the initial bid, but the group has remained a visible presence at Goodison Park and have continued to invest in the club up to £200million.
777 Partners co-founder Josh Wander was present at Everton’s 3-1 loss to West Ham United on Saturday 2 March, as Sean Dyche’s side were condemned to their seventh consecutive match without a win in all competitions.
Though the Toffees have already overcome a massive FFP hurdle in the past week, with their 10-point deduction for a Profit and Sustainability breach reduced to six points, the uncertainty of the takeover continues to cast a shadow at Goodison Park. And, lest we forget, there is also a second PSR charge they are awaiting to hear the outcome of.

Fans will be hoping the planned meeting will remove any remaining doubt over the bid, with the Toffees becoming more and more concerned as the days pass without any update on the situation.
It is a horrible situation for all involved, one that needs a solution as soon as possible.
