Idrissa Gueye unlikely to feature, Dele Alli ruled out – Early Everton team news v Man United

Sean Dyche has shared his early Everton team news for the game against Manchester United on Saturday (9 March).

Speaking in his pre-match press conference on Thursday (7 March), the Toffees boss revealed that Idrissa Gueye is unlikely to feature against the Red Devils, but he has “got a chance” ahead of the trip to Old Trafford.

Although Dele Alli is continuing to make progress, he added that the midfielder won’t make the game, while everyone else should be fit to play despite there being a “few knocks and bruises” in the squad.

“Alli continues to make progress, not there yet,” said Dyche. “Gana would be unlikely, but got a chance I would say. A few knocks and bruises, but everyone should be alright.”

Everton in good shape heading into Man United game

It sounds as though the Everton squad are in reasonably good shape heading into the game against Man United as almost everyone is fit.

It will likely be some time yet before Alli is ready to feature, but Gueye appears to be in with an outside chance of making the trip to Manchester.

It’s probably the healthiest the Toffees squad has been as a collective for some time and that will be pleasing for Dyche as he looks to get back to winning ways.

While receiving four points back following their successful appeal to the 10-point deduction has aided their fight against relegation, they are certainly not out of the woods yet following the 3-1 defeat to West Ham on 2 March.

Although the Red Devils have been in indifferent form this season, the Blues would probably be happy to come away from Old Trafford with anything other than a defeat.
