Richard Keys has reacted to an image of Marcus Rashford in the build-up before Manchester United were awarded one of their penalties against Everton on Saturday (9 March).

The Toffees were condemned to a 2-0 defeat by Man United at Old Trafford, with both Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford scoring from the penalty spot in the first half.

Keys has suggested that there might be a hint of offside in the build-up to the goal, which was not checked by VAR before allowing the penalty to be taken.

Taking to X on Saturday (9 March), Keys posted the image of Rashford with the caption: "This comes before Utd's pen. We're told Rashford was 'clearly onside' so there was no need for lines. Are we sure?"

Everton condemned to 10th-straight Premier League match without victory

Even despite the Toffees' 10-point deduction being reduced to six, they are still very much at risk of relegation from the Premier League.

With an upcoming game against fellow strugglers Crystal Palace, Luton Town could finish the weekend just two points behind Everton, with only Nottingham Forest in between the two in the table.

Of course, fans will feel hard done by at Old Trafford, but there have not been too many decisions that have gone against Everton and have just not been good enough against a well-drilled Man United side.

Everton will certainly rue their extremely early chance, with Amadou Onana and Ben Godfrey unable to turn the ball past Andre Onana in the United net.

Goals have been very hard to come by at Goodison Park and the trend has continued, with Abdoulaye Doucoure still the club's top scorer this season despite being unavailable through injury for weeks.
