Everton: Daily Mail journalist drops ‘absolutely ridiculous’ Ashley Young verdict in brutal video clip
Ian Ladyman has named Ashley Young as number one on his list of the worst divers ever as he hit out at the Everton ace for his antics earlier in his career.
The Daily Mail journalist named Young alongside Jurgen Klinsmann, Cristiano Ronaldo, Luis Suarez and Rivaldo among the worst divers Ladyman has ever seen.
Young was named for his diving during spells at Aston Villa and Manchester United, where he was labelled “absolutely ridiculous” after what he did before arriving at Everton.
Speaking on the It’s All Kicking Off podcast [11 March], Ladyman shared: “For me, number one is Ashley Young. Still going strong at Everton, although not diving any more I don’t think.
“There was a time during his spells at Aston Villa and Manchester United when Ashley Young was absolutely ridiculous.”

Young’s name being on that list should come as no surprise to anybody. He built up quite a reputation, particularly during his time at Manchester United, for his theatrics and became renowned for attempting to con the officials.
That tendency seems to have eased off in recent years, particularly since joining Everton as you can imagine Sean Dyche would not stand for it, particularly if they were as prolific with it as Young has proved to be across his career.
Dyche has been widely praised for the job he has done at Goodison Park since taking over last season as he attempts to steer Everton away from yet another relegation scrap, although, with no wins in 11 games, that task is proving difficult.
Young, meanwhile, has been fairly inconsistent since arriving on Merseyside and has been in and out of the team, although Manchester United fans paid tribute to their former player when he visited Old Trafford at the weekend.
