Everton: ‘Major concerns’ over 777 Partners takeover aired directly with Premier League
The Esk has directly asked the Premier League “how much more evidence is required” in order to block the 777 Partners takeover at Everton.
The Financial Times published an article on Tuesday (12 March) outlining yet more problems with regards to 777’s financial situation.
It is the latest on a long list of concerns that have been raised with regards to whether the American investment fund are capable of running Everton.
In a message posted via his personal X account [12 March], The Esk said: “So that’s the Washington Post, New York Times, The London Times, Bloomberg, Financial Times, numerous articles by Josimar, investigative journalists & me, all reporting major concerns & regulatory investigations into 777 Partners.
“How much more evidence is required for Moshiri & @premierleague to pull the plug?”
777 Partners takeover at Everton dragging on
Given the amount of time the Premier League has taken to make a decision on the takeover one way or another, you have to assume they have done a deep dive on 777’s finances.
Farhad Moshiri is clearly hell-bent on selling to the Americans, and if the deal collapses at this point you have to wonder what is next for both him and the club.
Pretty much right from the moment it was announced 777 intends to buy out Moshiri, the negative stories have been nearly enough trickling through daily.
Nobody can be blamed for being negative when it comes to the takeover. Instead, it is just reporting the facts and there is no doubt that a lot of these reports are worrying.
Many will argue that beggars cannot be choosers, but when the very future of the football club could depend on this takeover, you can never be too certain.
Until the Premier League formally give the green light for the takeover to go through or veto it, expect to see many more stories of a similar nature.
