Everton: Jordan Pickford named as Arsenal want to sign new goalkeeper amid Aaron Ramsdale update
Everton star Jordan Pickford has been named as a potential target for Arsenal should Aaron Ramsdale leave this summer, according to The Telegraph.
Writing on their website (13 March), the news outlet report that the Gunners could allow their number two goalkeeper to leave the club after he fell behind David Raya in the pecking order.
Should he leave they will look to replace him and the report suggests Pickford could become a target if Everton are relegated, with a goalkeeper merry-go-round expected during the upcoming summer transfer window.
“Ramsdale will be among those who could move in a hectic summer for goalkeepers where there is plenty of talent available but not many slots to fill,” they wrote.
“Caoimhin Kelleher at Liverpool is another No.2 who has performed well enough in the first-team to interest other clubs.
“Kepa Arrizabalaga is available from Chelsea, having been loaned to Real Madrid as emergency cover for the injured Thibaut Courtois. There are also keepers threatened by relegation to the Championship this season in Everton’s Jordan Pickford and James Trafford at Burnley.”
Jordan Pickford to leave Everton?
There has been a host of speculation over recent years about Pickford’s future at Goodison Park, with the club battling against relegation regularly.
But last year the England number one penned a new four-year contract despite the club being right in the thick of a battle, showing his commitment to the cause and Everton Football Club.
However, as he gets older and the club become even more regular contenders when it comes relegation he will surely consider leaving the club at some point.

But why would he go to Arsenal? Mikel Arteta has already shown no loyalty when it comes to the goalkeeper situation, but he is set to splash £30m on making Raya’s move from Brentford permanent.
It would be strange for Pickford to go there and be the number two, but should the Toffees suffer the horror of relegation then it’s difficult to see how he would stick around in the Championship.
