Everton: Vitaliy Mykolenko may be dropped from XI v Bournemouth

Vitaliy Mykolenko struggled and will have disappointed Sean Dyche with his performance for Everton v Manchester United.

Despite playing well and taking the game to United at Old Trafford on Saturday, 9 March, the Toffees ended up losing 2-0.

There were few players who stood out and impressed the travelling support, but Mykolenko struggled to get his mark on the game.

Mykolenko struggled in Everton v Manchester United

According to Sofascore, the Ukraine international struggled for accuracy from his crosses as well as his passes.

He could complete just 50 per cent of his attempted crosses and achieved an accuracy of 77 per cent – misplacing 10 of his attempted 43 passes in the game.

The 24-year-old had a zero per cent accuracy with his long balls – an important part of Dyche’s playing philosophy to hit sides on the counter attack.

He lost both of his ground duels and failed to win a single duel in the air either – a performance certainly not worth writing home about.

Sean Dyche may give Ashley Young a go

Dyche has preferred Ben Godfrey at right-back and with Ashley Young, who’s capable of playing at left-back, moving to the bench, he may come in for Mykolenko for the next game.

This would give the Ukraine international some time to reflect and also give Dyche the option of playing the 38-year-old in a different position.
