Everton must hold firm as Manchester United and Arsenal chase £80m-valued Amadou Onana
Everton have a lot going on right now, with transfers undoubtedly at the very back of Sean Dyche’s mind.
But it won’t stop the speculation linking their star players with summer exits, with Amadou Onana just one of the high-profile players potentially on his way out.
According to TEAMtalk, the Toffees will demand close to £80million from interested clubs for the midfielder.
The publication reported on its website on Tuesday (19 March) that Manchester United and Arsenal are interested in his signature.
Referencing a report that the Toffees are demanding £52million for Onana, TEAMtalk reported such a figure is far too low.
Will Everton keep or sell Amadou Onana in the summer transfer window?
It remains to be seen what will happen with midfield ace Onana this summer, with the Belgian international seemingly attracting plenty of interest.
It is unsurprising given his displays under Dyche this season, and indeed his potential at a top Premier League club like Manchester United or Arsenal.
Perhaps the future of Everton will play a key role in where the midfielder ends up for the next campaign, with Onana certain to leave should the Toffees be relegated to the Championship.
But even if they manage to stay in the Premier League, a big-money sale is likely to be needed to help balance the books at Goodison Park.
And that could involve Onana, who looks set to leave for quite a substantial fee should he exit Merseyside this summer, with his teammate Jarrad Branthwaite potentially in a similar situation.
But all he and manager Sean Dyche must do between now and the end of the season is work hard on the training ground and the pitch in order to help the club stay in the top flight.
Once the campaign has concluded, transfer activity can then be considered, and the Toffees must hold firm when it comes to their talented midfield man.

If he does want to leave, forcing him to stay would create an unwanted issue, but given that it is two Premier League powerhouses who could battle it out for his signature, Everton should be trying to make as much money from his sale as possible.
