Amadou Onana tipped to join Spanish or Italian club amid Everton exit talk as Premier League move rubbished

Everton ace Amadou Onana would be “better suited” to La Liga or Serie A, according to former Toffees scout Bryan King.

King believes the midfielder, who has been linked with Barcelona, along with Manchester United and Arsenal, needs a less intense league than the Premier League.

The Belgian international played the entire match as the Toffees lost 2-0 to Manchester United last time out, in what was his 29th appearance of the season.

Discussing the potential of European clubs targeting Everton players, King told Goodison News: “They don’t want too many Everton players, do they?

“I thought Onana did alright against Manchester United, and looking at him and watching him play, I think he’d be better suited in Spain or Italy than he would in the Premier League to be honest. It’s certainly not as intense as it is in the Premier League.”

Will Everton lose Amadou Onana in the summer transfer window?

It remains to be seen what will happen with Onana this summer, with the midfielder enjoying himself at Goodison Park this season with his individual displays.

But the Toffees overall have not been good enough, with the Merseyside club involved in another Premier League relegation fight.

Everton could have up to £50million to spend on new midfielders after selling Amadou Onana

Onana may have his sights set on a Goodison Park exit, but for now he must do all he can on the pitch to help avoid a drop into the Championship.

If relegation does take place on Merseyside, then it will be very likely that Onana and indeed several other senior stars will leave the club.
