Everton: Doctor issues Jordan Pickford injury claim ahead of EURO 2024
Everton are unlikely to take a cautious approach with Jordan Pickford to protect him for EURO 2024, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.
The injury expert has reacted to suggestions that the England number one should be wrapped in cotton wool to avoid any setbacks before the tournament.
While there are a few things he could do to be careful, but given the relegation battle, it is highly unlikely.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Pickford:
“Goalkeeper position obviously isn’t as purely physical as other spots but you can still tell them to err on the side of caution when it comes to 50/50 balls or not put themselves into high risk situations where their defenders could more easily get rid of danger.
“Further, if there are certain opponents who tend to be more physical on corners and set pieces, you may employ different strategies.
“You cannot obviously eliminate the risk of injury and given Everton’s fight against relegation, it’s likely going to be intense until the end.”
Pickford has been exceptional for Everton and England
Pickford’s role for England has come under scrutiny but it has been bizarre as he’s been one of the Three Lions’ best players.
He has performed exceptionally well at three international tournaments and will be the number one at Euro 2024.

He’s also been a terrific influence for his club and Sean Dyche undoubtedly is thrilled to have him between the sticks for his side.
