Gary Neville and Roy Keane drop verdict on Everton second points deduction
Roy Keane and Gary Neville have dropped their verdict on Everton potentially receiving a second points deduction for a PSR breach.
The Toffees are set to have a hearing next week for a second breach, with a decision expected by April 8th and another points deduction expected after Nottingham Forest were given a four-point deduction this week.
And discussing the situation while on the Stick to Football podcast (21 March), Keane admitted he was getting bored of the whole thing and said it looks bad for the Premier League.
“Everton going to get another wack?” Neville asked, before Keane replied.
“It gets boring after a while doesn’t it? When you hear the legal side and what could happen. It’s not good for the league.”
Everton: Relegation should be decided on the pitch
It’s been a difficult season for everyone at Everton because of all the off-pitch happenings when it comes to the takeover, the points deductions and even the manager slapping a player.
But on the pitch things have been a bit better and without the six-point deduction the team would be cruising in mid-table with little worries about relegation.
Instead though the team are hoping that things aren’t made worse by more off-pitch punishments which could make the performances on the pitch completely pointless.
If a team is to be relegated out of the Premier League and into the Championship then it should be because they haven’t done enough on the pitch to secure the necessary points.
But instead it looks like financial decisions made by people at club’s that have nothing to do with results are going to be the difference, and it’s terrible for the game we all love.
