Everton: Youssef Chermiti still has role to play this season after Portugal Under-21s feat
Everton have struggled on the pitch in recent months but it is more than fair to say that the club have been affected by issues away from the field.
Manager Sean Dyche will, however, only focus on matters on the pitch, but the boss is running out of time to save the Toffees this season.
At this moment in time, the Goodison Park club are safe from the drop, sitting in 16th place in the Premier League table.
But with another potential points deduction going their way, it would be wise for the man in the dugout to try his utmost to pick up points as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, however, scoring goals has been a real issue, with the likes of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto not clinical enough in the final third.
They are seemingly numbers one and two in Dyche’s striker pecking order, with youngster Youssef Chermiti behind them.
The 19-year-old is yet to score from his 13 senior Toffees appearances, having joined from Sporting CP last summer.
Given his age, it is fair to say his signature represents one for the future, with Dyche really not giving the striker many chances this season.
In fact, he has picked up just 115 minutes from those 13 appearances [Transfermarkt], with his only 90 minutes coming for Everton Under-21s in the EFL Trophy.
And that may just be his level right now, with Chermiti scoring in that meeting with Mansfield Town, while he is also shining for Portugal Under-21s.
Can Youssef Chermiti make a lasting impact at Everton this season?
In his nation’s latest match against the Faroe Islands on Thursday (21 March), the Toffees man found the back of the net with a well-taken goal.
Impressively, the goal came on his Portugal Under-21s debut, as per the official Everton X account, which should really boost his confidence going forward.

Dyche will be keeping tabs on all of his international players during this break, and he may just turn to the striker between now and the end of the season as the Merseyside outfit look to push away from the bottom three.
