Everton: New hearing update emerges at Goodison Park after Premier League noises

Dan Plumley has insisted that the Premier League need to wrap up the second Everton hearing over their latest charge as soon as possible.

The finance expert shared that he has seen 8 April as the statement day for that to be sorted, with a second points deduction said to be inevitable.

It is said that the Premier League will be working flat out around Easter as they aim to conclude the matter, with Everton also backed to appeal any punishment.

“I’ve seen 8 April as a statement date for that,” he exclusively told Goodison News.

“It does match up with the timeline, and we’re at that point now where it has to be done sooner rather than later because the Premier League have got this date as the ultimate backstop being 24 May but the season finishes before that.

They will not want to be going into the last couple of weeks of the season with provisional tables and points positions pending based on appeals and all kinds of things, it would get really messy.

It has to be done sooner and as I say, we’ve seen noises that they are going to be working flat out over the Easter weekend and 8 April is maybe the date that they’re aiming at.

It needs to be sooner rather than later as you would expect Everton to appeal it.”

Sean Dyche’s Everton side have faced plenty of challenges both on and off the pitch this season.

Premier League to punish Everton yet again?

With the takeover also rumbling on in the background, one piece of positive news from the Premier League is that conditional approval looks to have been granted.

Any decision in this second hearing will not change any of that, but relegation is a scary prospect if another points deduction was to be handed down.

In other Everton news, the Premier League have granted 777 conditional approval for their takeover.
