Everton eye Barcelona gem Fermin Lopez, player intentions shared
Everton are one of two Premier League sides interested in signing Barcelona youngster Fermin Lopez, according to Spanish outlet Sport.
Toni Juanmarti reported on the publication’s online edition on Monday (25 March) that Everton and Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Lopez.
Everton are said to have first made their interest known in January, but the 20-year-old intends to stick around at Camp Nou as long as he continues to get opportunities to impress.
Who is Barcelona youngster Fermin Lopez?
Lopez has been on Barcelona’s books since 2016 and made his first-team breakthrough earlier this season.
The 20-year-old scored and assisted a goal in a friendly win over Real Madrid and did enough for Xavi to retain his faith in the youngster.
Lopez has now gone on to play 31 times for Barca across all competitions this season, starting 10 of those matches.
Given how often he is being used by the Catalan giants, it seems highly unlikely Everton will be able to persuade him to join the club.

As with many La Masia graduates, they will often seek pastures new if those first-team opportunities dry up.
Right now, though, that does not really look like being the case as Lopez has scored five times, including a goal in back-to-back games before the international break.
If Everton were indeed interested in January, that may have been the better opportunity to pounce.
Unfortunately, it seems like Lopez is in a category above the type of player the Toffees can realistically move for right now.
In other Everton news, a number of teams are reportedly angry at the Premier League following a decision made involving the Toffees.
