Everton: Tottenham want to seal Douglas Lukjanciks transfer after Finch Farm news
Tottenham Hotspur have taken an interest in 16-year-old shot-stopper Douglas Lukjanciks, who is set to join the Everton Academy as a scholar in July, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper reported via its website [25 March] that Lukjanciks is already regarded as one of England’s most promising goalkeepers, prompting transfer interest from Bayer Leverkusen, Marseille and Aston Villa.
It is understood that the Toffees have earmarked the youngster as a future first-team ‘keeper, having made his England U17s debut last year, but the interest from London could sway Lukjanciks’ decision.
Will Tottenham Hotspur beat Everton to their new Jordan Pickford?
Since Jordan Pickford arrived at Goodison Park in 2017, the goalkeeping situation has rarely been a problem for the club, even despite a lot of criticism for the former Sunderland man.
Especially this season, the 30-year-old has been sensational in between the sticks in the Premier League, with only Arsenal’s David Raya keeping more clean sheets so far.
Although Toffees fans will be expecting Pickford to last in goal for many more years, being able to take Lukjanciks under his wing would be an extremely important step in finding the club’s future shot-stopper.
Having already been tipped for stardom, it would be a huge disappointment to see the 16-year-old snapped up by another team.
Of course, the likes of Leverkusen and Marseille are very attractive moves, with the chance to play European football. But at Everton, the opportunity for first-team minutes will be right under the youngster’s nose.

Similarly, the project currently being constructed at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium could certainly sway things for the young goalkeeper, with Ange Postecoglou keen to bring through a lot of youth to his squad.
Lukjanciks will certainly be a name to keep one eye on, especially as the summer nears and he has to make a final decision on his future.
