Everton: Ben Jacobs issues Manchester United transfer admission over Jarrad Branthwaite

Everton ace Jarrad Branthwaite would be better value for money for Manchester United than Nice star Jean-Clair Todibo.

That is according to journalist Ben Jacobs, despite suggesting that Toffees man Branthwaite would cost more money.

Jacobs added that Ligue 1 side Nice could charge in the region of €60million (£51million) for their central defender.

“I know there’s a lot of talk also about Manchester United and Jean-Clair Todibo, largely because of the Nice links, and he certainly would be less than Branthwaite, but maybe not as good a value for money at €60m,” Jacobs told GIVEMESPORT (26 March).

Will Manchester United go all out to sign Everton ace Jarrad Branthwaite?

Branthwaite has seemingly caught the eye of various top clubs ahead of the summer transfer window, which is unsurprising given his displays for the Toffees this season.

Such displays have at least impressed England manager Gareth Southgate, who called the centre-back up in his latest squad for the friendly clashes with Brazil and Belgium.

Disappointingly for the youngster, Branthwaite could only watch on from the bench in both matches as the Three Lions lost to the former and drew with the latter.

Nonetheless, it has been a rapid rise for the centre-back, who will now return to Goodison Park to help the Toffees in their Premier League relegation fight.

Beyond that, however, is unknown, with a transfer battle likely to take place for the 21-year-old as soon as the season comes to a close.

Everton will undoubtedly be keen to keep hold of the player, but at the same time a big-money sale would really help their ongoing financial issues.
