Everton: Alan Stubbs cannot believe ‘Scandalous’ new footage v Bournemouth
Alan Stubbs could not believe the “Scandalous” decision not to award Everton a penalty against Bournemouth on Saturday 30 March.
The Toffees left the Vitality Stadium with zero points after a last-gasp Seamus Coleman own-goal saw them crash to a 2-1 defeat.
Beto had scored minutes earlier to cancel out the opener from Dominic Solanke, but it was Dominic Calvert-Lewin at the heart of the drama.
The England international was somehow not awarded a penalty despite a clear trip by Tyler Adams was ignored by the officials and VAR.
Stubbs could not believe the footage, as he took to X to say: “Another scandalous decision from yesterday’s referee Samuel Barrett.
“VAR (virtually always [w]rong) should have come in and overruled but it’s Everton so no penalty. Howard Webb, it has become worse since you took over.”
Premier League get it wrong on Everton again
This isn’t the first time Webb has been called out over the state of officiating in the Premier League, with the fan forum taking aim recently.
Michael Oliver was on VAR duties for the game, and Keith Hackett has called him out for letting Samuel Barrett down with his lack of help on the south coast.
Any argument of going down too easily makes no sense either, contact in the box without touching the ball has always been a penalty, unless you are Everton, clearly.

That is still no excuse for the overall performance as the winless run continued in the Premier League, with Sean Dyche facing yet more pressure.
Something needs to change at Everton to make sure these decisions cannot cost the club points, with chances needing to be created more frequently and put away.
Calvert-Lewin is not doing that enough, but the spotlight is on something different this weekend.
In other Everton news, Howard Webb has been slammed by a fan group over his response to a public question.
