Everton could have to pay out £100m+ after new documents published at Goodison Park

Everton could have to pay out more than £100million after the club have published their financial accounts, according to Kieran Maguire.

The football finance expert tweeted a page from the report showing that the Toffees could have to pay a transfer fee and add-ons of £78million as well as player bonuses of £27million if certain goals are achieved.

The accounts have revealed that the Blues have suffered a five per cent drop in revenue down to £172million for 2022/23.

Everton financial report not pretty reading

There were already plenty of concerns amongst the fans regarding Everton’s difficult financial situation and they have probably deepened following the latest report.

The club have been operating under a limited budget this season after years of mismanagement have led to significant debts being racked up.

It will be troubling for many to hear that the club may have to fork out a further £107million if certain scenarios play out, but it’s so far unclear exactly what they entail.

One thing is for certain, though, the Toffees are in a mess at this moment in time due to their extremely precarious financial position.

It’s clear that matters can’t continue like this and big changes will be needed to get the Blues back on their feet again and out of what looks to be impending danger.

In other Everton news, Jeff Stelling has mooted a £45million exit for one Toffees star.
