Everton: Sky Sports reporter shares PSR verdict update from Finch Farm as Sean Dyche speaks out

Sky Sports reporter Ben Ransom says it is unlikely Everton will hear back on their second PSR ruling before the clash with Burnley.

The relegation-threatened Toffees are awaiting a verdict on the second breach, which is expected at some point in early April.

Ransom shared an update from outside Finch Farm after speaking with Sean Dyche at his pre-Burnley press conference.

“We are still waiting for the results into the second hearing for their breach of rules,” he said on Sky Sports News [4 April, 3:19pm].

“That announcement is expected any day now. Sean Dyche told me earlier today that he’s not expecting it to be any different to the last time when it came relatively out of the blue.

“Burnley are four points above the relegation zone heading into this crucial game. That could obviously change in the coming days.

“But we’re not expecting that announcement on the PSR ruling to happen before the game with Burnley, which makes sense when you consider the magnitude of the match.”

Everton awaiting second PSR charge verdict

This second PSR charge has been looming over Everton for longer than expected now. It is not only unfair on the Toffees, but also the other clubs fighting relegation.

These next seven days or so are truly massive for the club both on and off the field. Three points against Burnley at Goodison Park on Saturday (6 April), combined with a positive outcome in the court room, and the Toffees will be in a much better position.

Should the winless Premier League run extend this weekend, though, then any sort of points deduction will almost certainly see the club drop into the bottom three.

For all the widespread debate of the looming points deduction, Everton simply need to start producing better performances on the pitch. The draw with Newcastle was certainly an improvement, now let’s just hope it proves a platform to push on.
