Everton v Newcastle: Amadou Diallo exit decision made after squad inclusion

Amadou Diallo who was on the bench for the Everton game has been told by Newcastle that he will be leaving this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

The news outlet reported on 5 April that the 21-year-old, an unused substitute in the 1-1 draw to the Toffees on 2 April, will not have his contract renewed once it expires in June.

He made his senior debut this season in the Premier League against Chelsea back in November.

Important point for Everton v Newcastle

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s late equalising goal from the penalty spot not only secured a valuable point but also ended his personal goal drought, which could help restore his confidence going forward.

Additionally, the manner in which the goal was scored, coming late in the game, showcases Everton’s resilience and determination to fight until the final whistle, traits that will be crucial in their battle against relegation.

Apart from the striker’s goals, there were some other positives to take from the game for the Toffees.

Jordan Pickford’s smart saves kept his side in the game, while James Garner’s introduction injected energy and nearly resulted in a goal.

Vitalii Mykolenko’s goal-line clearance denied Newcastle a second goal.

Despite the result, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Amadou Onana showed determination in midfield, and Andre Gomes provided creativity after coming off the bench.
