Everton: Dominic Calvert-Lewin will hope to continue goalscoring form v Chelsea

Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be looking to keep up his positive goal-scoring run as Everton face Chelsea away from home this week (15 April).

The Toffees picked up their first win since December last time out at Goodison Park against Burnley in a 1-0 win.

This has helped bring some much-needed positivity to the club following yet another points deduction from the Premier League this week.

Sean Dyche’s side are two points off the relegation places and a win away at Stamford Bridge needs to see them keep up some good form.

Their last two games have seen them pick up four points and against a porous Chelsea side, Calvert-Lewin needs to keep up his form.

Can Dominic Calvert-Lewin continue his Everton form v Chelsea?

It is positive for all Toffees fans that Calvert-Lewin appears to be back on the goalscoring trail with two in his last two games.

According to FotMob, he now has five goals and one assist across 27 appearances this season. He will be hopeful of scoring more in the last seven games of the season.

Against Burnley, the Englishman found the net thanks to a stroke of luck as Arijanet Muric’s clearance cannoned off him. The stroke of luck he needed and a quality representative of all good strikers.

He is the most prolific of all Everton’s available strikers which is where their problems begin. Beto has three [FotMob], while Youssef Chermiti has yet to find the net since signing.

With that being said, moving forward into the Chelsea game, Calvert-Lewin can be confident of his chances of scoring especially after his last two games.

The Blues have conceded 52 goals this season and with Benoit Badiashile, Axel Disasi or Thiago Silva the Everton man can fancy his chances.

According to Fbref, Calvert-Lewin has won 6.25 aerial duels per game. He has won 50.4% of duels with 126 so far this season. By comparison, the Frenchmen win 2.49 and 2.45 respectively while Silva wins 1.94.

With plenty of crosses coming in from out wide from wingers such as Ashley Young and Dwight McNeil, the striker could thrive.
