Everton v Chelsea team news: Sean Dyche issues Dominic Calvert-Lewin update

Sean Dyche has issued an update on the team news ahead of the Everton v Chelsea clash at Stamford Bridge on Monday, 15 April.

The Toffees boss has addressed the fitness of Amadou Onana, Idrissa Gueye and Arnaut Danjuma in his pre-match press conference.

Dyche said on 11 April at 1:22pm: “James Garner and Dominic Calvert-Lewin have had knocks but should be fine by Monday. Amadou Onana is back.

“All is good with Gueye and his family. He has been training well this week.

“Arnaut Danjuma has been training He’s got a bounce game tomorrow and he should at least be in the thoughts for Monday’s squad.”

So Dele Alli and Lewis Dobbin are ruled out while Danjuma, Calvert-Lewin and Garner are risks.

Everton go into the Chelsea clash as underdogs

The Toffees enter the match against Chelsea as underdogs, but they may feel optimistic given their opponent’s inconsistent performances this season.

Despite Chelsea’s recent win against Manchester United, their follow-up game against Sheffield United ended in a draw, highlighting their struggles with consistency.

This erratic form could provide Everton with an opportunity to capitalize on Chelsea’s vulnerabilities.

Dyche’s side may be motivated by their desire to improve their own form, particularly following their latest points deduction.

Although they may face challenges with injuries and team dynamics, the unpredictability of Chelsea’s play gives them a chance to exploit weaknesses.

The manager’s focus on a solid defence and a tactical approach can help them counter the London side’s attack, which has been known to struggle at times.

If the visitors can maintain discipline and take advantage of any lapses in Chelsea’s performance, they have a realistic chance of securing a positive result.
