Everton facing potential ‘Catastrophe’ after administration update – Goodison Insider

Bryan King believes it would be a “catastrophe” for Everton if they were to be relegated from the Premier League amid the threat of administration looming large.

The ex-Everton scout is not confident that the Toffees will be able to maintain top-flight status ahead of next season.

It comes after a report in The Telegraph (16 April) revealed that Everton’s administration fears are currently on hold after 777 Partners were granted an extension for the deadline to repay a £160million loan, which is needed for the takeover of the club to be completed.

However, King – speaking exclusively to Goodison News – doesn’t think the Blues are safe just yet.

“The way things are going, you’re left wondering if Everton are going to be playing in the Premier League next season or not,” King said.

“They’re very fortunate that there are a couple of clubs below them who look destined for relegation.

“But administration could lead to relegation, which would be a catastrophe for Everton, they’re one of the few clubs who have never been relegated from the Premier League.”

Everton supporters won’t feel comfortable until a final conclusion is reached at Goodison Park

While the extension provided 777 Partners with some more time to salvage their Everton takeover, that won’t be of much comfort to supporters at Goodison Park.

While their fears might be eased for a week or two, doubt will soon creep back in after the takeover deal was once again delayed.

Confidence in 777 will certainly be plummeting, and until an outcome is reached, the fear of administration will continue to loom large at Goodison Park.
