Everton point to £75m transfer amid Jarrad Branthwaite exit talk at Goodison Park
Everton are using Wesley Fofana as a point of reference for Jarrad Branthwaite as Manchester United, Tottenham and Bayern Munich show interest, according to TEAMtalk.
It has been a superb breakout season for the Englishman after two loan spells away from Goodison Park.
With the points deductions that the Toffees have been given this campaign, selling key stars may be necessary for FFP in the summer window.
Branthwaite is one of the Toffees’ most sellable assets and a price has now been set based on a previous transfer.
The £75m signing of Fofana by Chelsea in 2022 is being used as a benchmark as Everton believe he can become better than the Frenchman.
Should Everton sell Jarrad Branthwaite?
After spending last season on loan with PSV, Branthwaite has returned to Merseyside and become one of the Toffees’ most important players.
According to FotMob, he has made 29 Premier League appearances this season at the heart of the defence under Dyche.
His stats measure up to some of the best in Europe’s top five leagues according to Fbref. 1.61 interceptions, 1.92 tackles and 2.69 aerials won per 90 show what he is all about.

Branthwaite does bring mobility and gyle to the Everton defence which has seen him stand out amongst his teammates.
With that being said, Tarkowski’s profile is similar on Fbref. The Englishman registers 1.62 interceptions, and 1.64 tackles while winning 3.59 aerials per 90.
Given that their stats are quite similar, a signing could be made for a cheaper fee to replace Branthwaite for next season.
If Manchester United or another club table a bid over £70m then it will be hard to turn down.
In other Everton news, Dyche has been predicted to make three changes for the clash with Nottingham Forest amid injury concerns.
