Everton team news v Nottingham Forest: Lewis Dobbin now doubt in new update
Lewis Dobbin is the latest injury doubt at Everton ahead of their clash with Nottingham Forest, according to the Daily Mail.
The newspaper shared in its print edition [page 6, 20 April] that Dobbin has an ankle injury, joining Seamus Coleman, Jarrad Branthwaite, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Idrissa Gana Gueye all working their way back towards full fitness.
The news comes shortly after Toffees boss Sean Dyche revealed that Nathan Patterson is set to miss the remainder of the season with an injury of his own.
Everton could do without injury issues as they battle for Premier League survival
Everton certainly have plenty on their plate as things stand – both on and off the field.
Back-to-back points deductions in the same season have brought the Toffees eight points closer than they would have liked to the relegation zone, with Forest one point and one place below them, having played a game extra.
Dyche’s side have been in woeful form since the turn of the year, claiming just one Premier League victory in 2024 and embarking on an unwanted club record 13 successive league matches without a win.
Calvert-Lewin scored in consecutive games in the 1-1 draw against Newcastle United and the 1-0 victory over Burnley as Everton looked to build momentum ahead of the run-in, but his struggles with fitness have yet to fully abate and, having suffered a 6-0 humbling against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in his absence, the Toffees may be forced to go in search of what would be a vital win over Forest without him.

Defeat against Nuno Espirito Santo’s men would certainly plunge Everton into a much more perilous situation – and given all the off-field drama plaguing the club, the Toffees could do with a less dramatic finale to this campaign.
In other Everton news, clubs are waiting on Goodison chiefs to finalise a multi-million Jarrad Branthwaite transfer decision.
