Carlo Ancelotti sends Jarrad Branthwaite to Real Madrid bosses amid Everton transfer mission
Real Madrid scouts arrived on Merseyside to watch Jarrad Branthwaite as Everton won 2-0 versus Liverpool on Wednesday night (24 April), according to TBR Football.
The news outlet reported on 25 April that ex-Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti has “inspired” Madrid’s interest in the 21-year-old centre-back, leading to transfer experts attending Goodison Park for the Merseyside Derby.
Real Madrid’s scouting chief Juni Calafat isn’t only eyeing Branthwaite with Lille’s Leny Yoro and Benfica’s Antonio Silva also on his list ahead of the summer transfer window.
But it is understood that Ancelotti has specifically recommended Everton’s former Carlisle defender to the Bernabau’s bosses after handing him his Toffees debut back in July 2020.
Could Jarrad Branthwaite leave Everton for Real Madrid?
Football Transfers reported ahead of the January transfer window that the Toffees were demanding up to £75m for the defender.
This is likely to put off many potential suitors who aren’t willing to part with such a fee for the Everton man.
He has had a great season for the Toffees which has put him in the shop window of world football. Manchester United have shown an interest and could make a move in the summer.
After returning from a season-long loan with PSV last year, he has gone on to play over 2700 Premier League minutes [FotMob].
Branthwaite has made 31 starts and has helped contribute as Sean Dyche’s side have conceded just 48 goals, the fourth least in the division.

With Jude Bellingham ripping it up in La Liga, as another Englishman joining him in the Spanish capital he could fit in well.
It would be a huge jump from a relegation battle in the Premier League to the latter stages of the Champions League.
The chance to link up again with Ancelotti at the world’s biggest club could be something he can’t turn down.
