Everton attacker Lewis Dobbin injury update emerges ahead of Brentford game

Everton attacker Lewis Dobbin likely appears to have suffered a Grade 3 rupture in his ankle ligaments, according to Dr Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert believes he will not return before May, thus ruling him out of the game against Brentford on Saturday, 27 April.

Sean Dyche, on 4 April, revealed that the 21-year-old was making good progress with his rehab.

Speaking exclusively to Goodison NewsBrar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said about Dobbin:

Dobbin suffered ligament damage in his ankle and according to Dyche was making good progress at the start of April.

The severity really depends on the type of ligament damage he suffered as if it was damage to the lower lateral or outer ankle ligaments, it’s most likely a Grade 3 full rupture.

However, it could be the upper ankle ligaments so then it may be a Grade 1 or low Grade 2, but that’s unlikely.

Difficult to put a definite timeline on training as the team has been quite vague with his progress.

He could be back at the end of April if he’s on track to return to action in the first week of May as that’s what reports state, but he’s not going to return before that.”

Everton attacker Lewis Dobbin has been out since March with an injury

The 21-year-old who is capable of playing on the wing as well as down the middle, last featured for the club on 9 March.

He played 29 minutes as his side fell to a 2-0 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
