Jordan Pickford makes hilarious rule change suggestion in Everton programme
Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford made a hilarious suggestion for a rule change he would implement in football.
The England international was speaking to Everton’s official matchday programme for the Merseyside derby clash against Liverpool (24 April).
In the “Matchday Takeover” feature, Pickford was asked for one rule change he would make in football.
His brilliant answer, shown on the Football Ramble X account (25 April), read: “Scrap fouls and let’s get on with it.”
Jordan Pickford a great character for Everton
You get the impression that Pickford is a man who loves a bit of chaos. Goalkeepers in general have a reputation for being…outlandish. Pickford certainly fits that bill.
But boy you couldn’t have a better character in that Everton dressing room, especially in a season when absolutely everything seems to have gone against the Toffees and off-field issues have dominated the agenda.
On the pitch, Pickford certainly played his part with some big saves as Everton deservedly defeated the Reds 2-0 at Goodison Park to simultaneously boost their survival hopes and put a dent in Liverpool’s title chances.
In all honesty, things couldn’t have gone much better for Everton…just we wouldn’t expect to see Pickford’s hilarious rule change suggestion come to fruition anytime soon, even if it would be kind of fun to see…
