Richard Keys makes Sean Dyche Everton sack verdict amid Thomas Frank Brighton links
Richard Keys believes that Everton would’ve sacked Sean Dyche if the results were as bad as Roberto De Zerbi’s, who could be replaced by Thomas Frank at Brighton.
The beIN Sports presenter wrote in his blog on 29 April that the Italian will leave at the end of the season and the Brentford boss will be replacing him at the Amex.
Keys believes that he’s unlucky not to be linked with the Liverpool job with them likely to go for Arne Slot.
He wrote: “At Brighton Roberto De Zerbi continues to write his resignation letter. After the defeat to Bournemouth he returned to a now familiar theme – but with a little bit of a twist.
“We already knew he doesn’t believe Brighton match his ambition (honestly – the arrogance) but now he’s turned on his players, who he says, ‘lack motivation’. Wow. It’s over.
“Brighton’s latest defeat means that only Sheff U, Burnley and Forest have a worse record than theirs this season. They’ve won just six of their last 28. If Sean Dyche, David Moyes or any other domestic coach had a record like that there would be screams for them to be sacked.
“The Italian will leave at the end of the season – I’m hearing to be replaced by Thomas Frank, who can think himself unlucky not to have been linked with bigger jobs. Liverpool? Why not?”
Everton undoubtedly would’ve sacked Sean Dyche with that record
The record of only six wins in the last 28 matches is indeed a cause for concern, especially for a club like Brighton, which is often regarded as one of the best-run clubs in the Premier League.
This performance is particularly underwhelming when compared to other teams and their respective managerial situations.
If Dyche, for instance, had a similar record at Everton, it is highly likely that he would have been sacked.
This contrast highlights the apparent double standard applied to De Zerbi at Brighton, where his record is not being scrutinized as closely as it might be at other clubs.
With such a poor record, it is reasonable to expect that there would be significant pressure on De Zerbi to improve the team’s performance.
However, this has not been the case, and the Italian manager has instead chosen to blame the players for their lack of motivation.

Dyche, on the other hand, has galvanised every player at the club amid financial adversities and he’s undoubtedly been the better manager.
In other Everton news, a claim on the red tape has emerged as there is now ‘Significant’ interest shown in the club’s takeover beyond 777 Partners.
