Chelsea likely to sign Aaron Ramsdale over Jordan Pickford at Everton
Chelsea are more likely to sign Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale than Everton star Jordan Pickford this summer, according to Dean Jones.
Writing on the Sport Lens website (2 May), the journalist reports that the London blues are keen to sign a new number one this summer after another lacklustre Premier League campaign.
Reports on Wednesday (The Boot Room, 1 May) suggest that Pickford is someone they may look to sign to take advantage of the Toffees’ financial troubles, but Ramsdale is seen as a “more likely” arrival unless Everton are forced into sales.

There are some big decisions for Sean Dyche and the Goodison Park board to make this summer, but there will be none easier than the future of Pickford.
The goalkeeper has become a living legend at the club and signed a new contract just last season to extend his stay, despite the fact the club looked almost certain to be relegated.
This time around the club have avoided the drop with three games to spare and while the financial troubles are well documented, it seems unlikely that there will be a huge exodus during the transfer window.
A major sale is expected before June 30th but both Jarrad Branthwaite and Amadou Onana are on the wanted list of several top clubs in Europe, and that should cover most of the financial issues.
But even if a big offer is to come in, Pickford can’t be allowed to leave such is his standing in the squad and city. It really is that simple.
