Everton debt update as new takeover enquiries made at Goodison Park

Everton risk falling further into debt following yet another setback in 777 Partners’ attempted takeover from Farhad Moshiri, according to the Liverpool Echo.

With no signs of immediate funding coming from 777, Everton may need to be funded for the time being by Moshiri, which will only worsen their worrying financial position in the eyes of the Premier League.

Everton’s takeover saga has been dragging on for close to a year now, and Moshiri may be forced to look for new investors with new takeover enquiries being made by an outside party.

Will 777 Partners complete their Everton takeover?

Everton are a club moving in seemingly any direction except upwards at the moment, as 777’s proposed takeover of the club enters an eighth month of talks.

Moshiri is desperate for someone to take the beleaguered club off his hands as soon as possible, yet seems even more desperate that 777 Partners must be the party who become the new majority shareholders at Goodison Park.

That would be of no issue, if the Miami-based group had shown any signs whatsoever that they have the financial backing or track record to call the shots at a major Premier League club, with governing bodies far from convinced with the proposals they’ve seen from 777.

While Sean Dyche has steered the club to top-flight safety amidst the chaos of two separate points deductions, it seems that off the field, Toffees fans are no closer to finding out who will own their club in the coming months and years.

Everton’s new Stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock lies unfinished with its future, and that of Goodison Park, under the microscope, but until a development is made, don’t be surprised to hear Blues fans voicing their disapproval of the current state of affairs as the most traumatic of seasons draws to a close.
