Standard Liege in communication breakdown with 777 Partners as Everton takeover stutters
777 Partners are yet to pay wages at Standard Liege with frustration growing over communication issues as a potential Everton takeover continues to falter, according to De Morgen.
Wages for players and club staff at the Belgian outfit have not been paid for April and this is not the first month that this has been the case.
The Liege players aren’t convinced by the confidence of their management who expect a payment by Thursday. The squad have been cynical due to the reports from American outlets about 777 Partners.
These issues are causing unrest at Standard with communication proving increasingly difficult with the headquarters in Miami.
Will 777 Partners take over Everton?
As the weeks go by, the prospect of the group taking over from Farhad Moshiri appears to be falling apart.
The talks have been ongoing for over eight months and aren’t gaining any true momentum right now.
Moshiri is looking to get rid of the club as soon as possible and seems desperate that prospective owners, 777 Partners move quicker in their approach.
The lack of movement in the deal points towards many parties being far from convinced with the group and their ability to fund the club for years to come.
A late payment to the Toffees could have thrown the club into jepordy given those loans are keeping them alive.
Now failing to pay players and staff at a club they already have a 100 per cent share of does make for grim reading for Everton fans.
Although a takeover is necessary, selling to 777 Partners for the sake of it could spell a dark future for the club.
