Farhad Moshiri could be forced to sell Everton as new takeover question emerges

Everton owner Farhad Moshiri may be forced to sell the club if the Toffees are faced with administration, according to the Esk.

The Toffees financial expert responded to a question with a post on X, saying that Moshiri’s hand could be forced if administration is his “only option” – and regardless, the final decision is still his to make.

Moshiri has been wanting out of Goodison Park for the best part of a year and is actively looking to sell the club to 777 Partners, but the Premier League has yet to ratify the takeover and a series of controversies have cast doubt on the deal.

When will Farhad Moshiri sell Everton?

Everton have been in the midst of takeover uncertainty for most of the season, a season that has seen them hit with two separate points penalties for breaches of the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability rules.

As Sean Dyche’s side have managed to navigate their way to safety before the end of the campaign – not helped by having eight points (reduced from a possible 12) chalked off their tally – 777 Partners’ takeover of the club looks to be no closer to fruition.

With the summer transfer window set to open in just a few weeks’ time, Dyche and his recruitment team do not know who will be providing the funds for the club’s much-needed business.

The continued uncertainty is, naturally, a worry for a wonderful fanbase that has really helped the team get over the line in ensuring Premier League survival this season but, frustratingly, until 777 can finally complete their takeover (or abandon the process altogether), huge question-shaped clouds hang over Goodison Park.

The 68-year-old is clearly desperate to part ways with Everton, a feeling that is mutual with Toffees fans, although due to his preference of a buyout from 777, Moshiri’s time in charge will continue until there is a solution one way or another.
