Manchester United may turn to Everton boss Sean Dyche as Erik ten Hag replacement

Martin Tyler has put Everton manager Sean Dyche forward as a potential replacement for Erik ten Hag at Manchester United should he depart in the summer.

Dyche has worked wonders this season at Goodison Park given the restrictions and points deductions he has dealt with.

He has kept Everton up and secured their safety with four games remaining in the Premier League after four games unbeaten.

Tyler speaking on The Joy of Football podcast, the former Sky Sports commentator picked out Dyche for a potential role with the Man United.

He said: “Gareth Southgate is being considered by Manchester United we believe and Sean maybe as well because it’s a fresh point of view. They need some freshness and they need a different point of view. A different sense of purpose.

“Have Manchester United lost that DNA that they had? I would suggest they probably have. So maybe somebody who’s grown up in the country where Manchester United have had all those years of success and looked upon with such reverence by so many people that, maybe that’s the way forward.”

How successful has Sean Dyche been with Everton?

To keep the Toffees up in a season full of frustrating moments which have looked to pull them back from any success.

An eight-point deduction might of been the end of some teams’ time in the Premier League but Dyche hasn’t let that happen.

His side have gone on two wonderful winning runs this season which have turned the tide in their favour.

Back in November and December 2023, five wins out of a possible six saw Everton push up the table and look like a midtable push without their first deduction.

Now in recent weeks four wins from a possible five including a famous win against Liverpool, the Toffees are safe.

Given that just two permanent signings were made in the transfer windows, it is safe to say Dyche has done a great job of pulling them up the league.

It doesn’t seem like there is much likelihood he will go to Manchester United, however.
