Jack Harrison may never play for Everton again after what Sean Dyche said before win v Sheffield United

Jack Harrison may have already played his final game for Everton after Sean Dyche revealed he is unlikely to play again this season due to injury.

The 27-year-old has spent the season on loan at Goodison Park from Leeds United, and has racked up four goals and three assists in 35 appearances in all competitions for the Toffees to help them avoid relegation.

But after suffering an undisclosed injury the club confirmed that the winger was forced to miss the 1-0 win over Sheffield United on Saturday 11 May, and is unlikely to be fit for the final game of the season at the Emirates Stadium against Arsenal (19 May).

With his loan agreement scheduled to come to an end after that game, and the club struggling financially right now, there is no guarantee he will ever pull on the famous blue shirt again.

Everton cannot splash the cash in the summer transfer window

Kevin Thelwell has already confirmed to the fans publicly that players will be sold this summer in order to try and balance the books and avoid more sanctions, with administration even being mooted by some in recent days.

And while people leaving means others must come in to replace them, the chances are that the club will have significantly less money to spend on incoming.

Harrison signed a new long-term contract at Elland Road just months before joining the Toffees, so there is no chance of a cut-price deal being had, and there’s still a chance Daniel Farke’s side could be in the Premier League next season too.

If that’s the case then they may look to keep hold of him themselves, but if they fail in the playoffs then they will want to ensure they get as much money as possible for their better players.

When taking everything into account it seems unlikely that a permanent deal will be able to be found between the parties, and Harrison’s time on Merseyside has come to a premature end.
