Alan Shearer and Micah Richards wowed after what Gary Lineker tells them about Everton

Alan Shearer and Micah Richards have piled praise on Sean Dyche after Everton secured yet another win at Goodison Park against Sheffield United.

Despite the points deductions against them, the Toffees achieved Premier League safety with plenty of time to spare.

This has seen plenty of positive reviews for Dyche given that he wasn’t afforded much room in the transfer market to make a difference.

Speaking on Match of the Day (11 May), Gary Lineker showed that Everton would be 11th in the Premier League without points deductions.

Shearer was full of praise for the manager, he said: “What a job he’s done this season, Sean Dyche, in really difficult circumstances, a brilliant job.”

Richards was equally impressed, simply saying: “Remarkable.”

How has Sean Dyche done with Everton?

There is no doubt of the work that Dyche has done keeping Everton in the Premier League since joining the club in January last year.

His work at the helm for the Toffees has been superb which is only made better when you consider the points deductions to go against him.

An initial deduction appeared to spur them on as it sparked a great run of form with four wins on the bounce in December 2023.

A second came in April 2024 and once again seemed to spark the Toffees into life which culminated in them securing Premier League safety.

A win over Liverpool was the icing on the cake as Dyche’s side secured positive wins against sides in and around them in a relegation battle.

This has all been done having signed only Beto and Yousef Chermiti for money over the summer which makes the job all the more impressive.
