MSP Sports Capital now backed to complete Everton takeover after 777 Partners news
Dan Bardell has suggested that MSP Sports Capital would be a safer choice as new Everton owners compared to 777 Partners.
Farhad Moshiri appears to have distanced himself from the American group after some financial concerns after failing to make payments in recent weeks.
Now attention has turned to finding new prospective owners for the Toffees with MSP Sports Capital being one of those.
Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist, Bardell has suggested that their ties to McLaren F1 and various other football teams could make them an ideal option.
Speaking exclusively to Goodison News, Bardell said: “There’s a track record there of some success and managing sports entities so that would fill me with more confidence than 777 Partners.
“If I was an Everton fan it would give me much more hope for the future purely because they’ve got that track record, they’re already involved in high-level sport. They’ve been involved in the stadium as well so they’ve already got ties to Everton that would fill me with more confidence.”
Are MSP Sports Captial a good option for Everton?
777 Partners had looked like the prime candidates to take over and become owners of Everton after months of rumours.
A late loan payment which nearly saw the Toffees into administration and failing to pay wages at Standard Liege was enough for Moshiri to have second thoughts.
There have been links to Kevin Malone who is looking to move from American sports to English football too.
Given that MSP already has ties to Everton through investing in the Bramley Moore Dock Stadium recently, it feels like they could be likely.

They already invest in McLaren, Augsburg and Brondby amongst others so they have pedigree in sports and football ownership already.
After the issues that have been faced in the last few years, the Toffees need a safe pair of hands to stabilise the club moving forward.
Nothing is guaranteed in football and they may not be a success but right now they feel like a safe choice for Moshiri.
