Jarrad Branthwaite set to leave Everton as Tim Sherwood makes transfer reveal

Tim Sherwood believes that Jarrad Branthwaite is nailed on to leave Everton amid Manchester United and Tottenham interest this summer.

The former Spurs manager believes that Amadou Onana and Jordan Pickford could also follow the English defender out of the door at Goodison Park.

He believes that due to the club’s dicey financial situation, sales are imperative in the summer transfer window.

Speaking on Premier League’s World Feed on 12 May at 9:58pm Sherwood said: “Looks like 100 per cent they’re going to have to sell players for PSR and Branthwaite will be the one on his way out.

“A lot of clubs are desperate for centre-backs. Manchester United and Tottenham will all be looking at him. Not many come better than Branthwaite.

“Onana might be of some value. Pickford could also be on his way out.”

Everton likely to end up selling Jarrad Branthwaite

The harsh reality for the Toffees is that they are facing a financially constrained situation, which necessitates player sales to comply with PSR and maintain the club’s financial stability.

This situation is further complicated by the club’s recent relegation battle and ongoing takeover negotiations.

Despite interest from clubs like Manchester United and Tottenham, it is unlikely that all three players mentioned, Branthwaite, Onana and Jordan Pickford, will leave.

A significant sale like that of Branthwaite, potentially for over £70million, could indeed be crucial for Everton’s future.

Such a sale would not only help the club meet their financial obligations but also provide a substantial injection of funds that could be used to strengthen the squad and build for the future.

However, the club must balance the need for financial stability with the desire to retain key players and remain competitive.

The club’s current situation means that any decision regarding player sales will be based on a careful assessment of the club’s financial position, the value of the players and the potential impact of their departure on the team’s performance.
