Man United ready £55m bid to sign Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite after Sean Dyche admission
Everton are set to receive a £55million bid for England star Jarrad Branthwaite from Manchester United, according to the Daily Mail.
The publication reported on its online edition on Tuesday (14 May) that United are preparing the big-money offer as they look to take advantage of Everton’s perilous financial situation.
The Toffees could be prepared to lose their prized defensive asset this summer as Sean Dyche recently admitted player sacrifices may have to be made amid financial chaos at Goodison Park.
Branthwaite has given a huge hand in helping Everton avoid the drop from the Premier League this season with 12 clean sheets and over five defensive ball recoveries per game [Sofascore].
His commanding displays have earned him a call-up to the England senior team this season, with huge potential for the 21-year-old to go to this summer’s Euros.
Will Branthwaite head for the Everton exit door?
Make no mistake, Branthwaite will be attracting all manner of suitors this summer, especially amid Everton’s financial situation and uncertainty over the club’s takeover.
Dyche’s admission was always going to attract the vultures – not just to Branthwaite, but also to the likes of Jordan Pickford and Abdoulaye Doucoure among others, as the Blues boss works wonders with one hand tied behind his back.

Branthwaite was recruited to Goodison for just £1m in 2020 from Carlisle United as a diamond in the rough, and has been moulded into an excellent performer for his age with Everton now valuing the star at around £80m – which could certainly rise should he make his England debut this summer.
With Manchester United in all sorts of problems themselves and defensive performances on the pitch nosediving under Erik ten Hag, Branthwaite could just be the gem they need to fit the jewellery – but from the Toffees’ perspective, let’s hope not.
In other Everton news, Jordan Pickford has been said to be snubbing a top-six move.
