Josh Wander sack at 777 Partners confirmed in Belgium as Everton takeover takes another twist

Co-founders of proposed new Everton buyers 777 Partners, Josh Wander and Steven Pasko, have been fired from the board of Standard Liege according to club director Jean-Michel Javaux.

Javaux’s Belgian club Standard are owned by 777 amid heavy supporter frustration, and following recent controversy surrounding the financial stability of the group, Wander and co-founder Pasko have been dismissed from their roles within the club.

The bold move comes after Standard fans got their home match last Friday with Westerlo called off in protest at 777, after blocking the team bus from entering the stadium.

In a Facebook post from Javaux [15 May], he goes on to state that “only a united Standard matters” following the decisions taken by the club, who have endured a poor domestic season.

Wander and Pasko are also seeing their proposed purchase of Everton from Farhad Moshiri on the brink of total collapse.

Time for Everton to move on from 777 Partners

The chaos around 777 Partners must not become Everton’s problem anymore than it is.

Moshiri was this week said to have agreed an extension on the exclusivity deal for the purchase to go through, until 31 May, before alternative plans get underway to sell to a new party.

The agreement is bound to frustrate the Goodison Park faithful even further, as 777’s sporting investments come crashing down around them.

Wander and Pasko have shown little proof they can sustain Everton as a well-oiled ship, as their company are investigated for fraud in a US lawsuit launched by Leadenhall.

Whilst 777 have bankrolled the club with a series of loans to keep the development of the Bramley-Moore Dock stadium afloat, improving relations with Moshiri who is desperate to sell, there is simply no long-term gain for the Blues – as established by developments in both Belgium and Brazil this week.

In other Everton news, Andy Burnham has made a live-on-air plea to Moshiri.
