Arsenal v Everton could be Dominic Calvert-Lewin farewell amid transfer revelation

Dominic Calvert-Lewin could be one of several Everton players preparing to play their final match in blue, as the Toffees travel to Arsenal for the Premier League season finale.

It has emerged this weekend that although Sean Dyche wants to tie Calvert-Lewin down to a new contract at Goodison Park, the club will look to sell if the striker does not agree terms in a transfer revelation from Alan Nixon.

Everton, safe from relegation weeks ago following a great run of form, visit Emirates Stadium as former Blue Mikel Arteta looks to win a first Premier League title as a manager, relying on a slip-up from Manchester City in the meantime.

Everton currently remain in a strong position regarding Calvert-Lewin’s future, but the stability of their grip on their best assets is in constant uncertainty whilst the protracted takeover saga of the club rolls on.

Everton is perfect home for Calvert-Lewin, but should they sell?

Calvert-Lewin has found it difficult in recent years to maintain an injury-free run of games, but when he does stay fit for a period, he is an excellent player to have at your disposal.

The 27-year-old’s current contract runs out next summer, so securing him long-term is a matter of urgency for the club as he starts to return to his best football following injury struggles.

At Goodison since 2016, Calvert-Lewin appears as settled and happy as he’s always been at Everton, and the style of play incorporated by Dyche plays to his strengths as a centre-forward.

Regular top-flight football will help the striker’s ambitions to return to the England reckoning, having last pulled on the Three Lions shirt in 2021 – and when he’s fully fit, Dyche almost always starts him.

However, if the two parties can’t agree on terms this summer amid crucial talks all over the club, Everton must act now.

This is the last summer window in which the club will bank a decent fee on the forward, especially considering he is at a crucial age and is an England international goalscorer.

The premium is there for the Blues, but their number nine is far more valuable to Dyche. If this is to be his final game for the club, though, then thanks for the service.
