Sean Dyche shared exasperated glance with Everton directors after Manchester City move

Everton manager Sean Dyche shares an “exasperated” glance with the Toffees’ directors when Manchester City prepared a triple substitution, according to The Athletic.

The outlet reported on Sunday (19 May) that during the Blues’ 2-0 defeat at the Etihad in February, Dyche was left frustrated when Pep Guardiola turned to his bench midway through the second half.

City’s boss introduced Kevin De Bruyne, Bernardo Silva and Kyle Walker when the game was level at 0-0 midway through the second half, much to the frustration of Dyche and Everton’s executives who were stationed in the stands.

Will Manchester City get a point deduction like Everton for FFP breaches?

It does seem ridiculous that the team who subbed on Lewis Dobbin and Seamus Coleman were the side hit with a point deduction this season, as opposed to the team that introduced three world-class players at the Etihad.

Dyche and the Toffees have suffered setback after setback this season, with ownership issues and point deductions ensuring that Everton have never been too far away from being dragged back into the relegation battle.

While the Blues have admitted that they breached profit and sustainability rules, it doesn’t seem right they have been deducted eight points this term while City remain unpunished for their alleged 115 breaches.

The playing field doesn’t seem level in the Premier League and while that has been obvious for some time on the pitch, it is ridiculous that there is so much disparity in how the teams are handled off the field as well.

Hopefully, some action will be taken on the champions sooner rather than later. Luckily Dyche worked his magic this term and helped the Toffees’ avoid the drop, otherwise, the former Burnley man would have done more than share a look.
